The authorities at Chaimongkol Temple in South Pattaya are determined to stop visitors throwing food to the hordes of pigeons who congregate daily on the rooftops. The birds are believed to be potential carriers of disease. Also banned in a new notice is the practice of throwing live fish into the temple ponds. Apparently they don’t live long and are soon floating on the somewhat murky surface, thus creating another health hazard.
