Top army commander visits Pattaya

The commander of Army Infantry Division 2 visited Pattaya to check on stability, peace and order in the city.

Maj. Gen. Santhipong Tham­mapiya was welcomed by military appointed Pattaya governing board members, Pattaya police, local administrators and private organizations at Pattaya City Hall.

Following a 30-minute closed-door meeting, the general visited the Sea Rescue Center at Bali Hai Pier where they were briefed about the boat-mooring project.

Acting Mayor Chanatpong Sriviset, police and Marine Department officials addressed the commander with details of different topics and obstacles they are facing, as well as successful projects.

Santhipong said he visited to issue orders on boosting peace and order, as well as investigate unfinished projects and other problems lurking in the Pattaya, Banglamung and Sriracha areas.

All the information collected will be discussed at a meeting in Chonburi to find resolutions and actions to apply in the near future, he said.
