Local tourism industry officials and businesses showed off Pattaya’s best for three days in China to woo even more mainland visitors to the city at the 12th China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning.
Tourism Association of Thailand Pattaya office Director Suladda Sarutilavan and Pattaya Tourism Department Director Aornwara Korapin led the delegation of tourism clubs, association and business operators to the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China for the Sept. 19-21 trade show.
The highlight of the three-day trip was the Pattaya Night & Networking Dinner Party hosted by TAT and the city at the Nanning Winwin Hotel Sept. 18.
Speaking before the trip at a Sept. 10 planning meeting, Suladda said the trade mission would help promote tourism to Chinese travelers and encourage them to visit Thailand and Pattaya.
Planned for the exhibition and networking night were arts and cultural performances to show off unique facets of Thai society as well as present tourism information relevant to the Chinese.
Chinese tourists already are Pattaya’s No. 1 demographic segment and, overall, more than 5 million mainland visitors have entered Thailand this year, now accounting for one in every five foreign tourists.
