The city council’s Tourism and Culture Committee met with Pattaya-area businesses to gather suggestions on how the 2016 event budget will be spent.
Councilman Rattanachai Sutidechanai chaired the Oct. 14 meeting, which reviewed projects for this calendar year and next. Among the events suggested for city financial support were the Love Art Park project and the Oct. 16-17 Asia Flow Championships.
The event did not get financial backing from Pattaya, but the city did end up giving the Cartoon Network Amazone waterpark advertising and promotional support.

Another event proposed to promote cultural tourism was a display of King Taksin Maharaj in the ‘Siamyut’ by the conservationists of the local history committee.
Rattanachai said Pattaya was given 5.5 million baht by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau to promote the city as a center for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions. The money, he said, will be used to fund a road show and trade-show booths to advertise Pattaya’s MICE facilities in Indonesia, China and Vietnam.
