Tourists trying to escape the construction mayhem in Pattaya and Jomtien beaches are spending more of their days on Koh Larn.

The island has become a popular option for holidaymakers this July. Bali Hai Pier buzzes daily with ferries and speedboats packed with tourists, particularly the Chinese who’ve supplanted Russians this year in Pattaya. Meanwhile, business has been slow on the beaches of Pattaya and Jomtien where construction projects mean digging and huge vehicles all over the place, all the time.

Koh Larn offers beautiful scenery and cleaner beaches for people who like to snorkel, swim, sunbathe or just hang out around the area and enjoy the breeze. Restaurants and most other business vendors in Koh Larn were doing well while most places on the mainland are suffering.

One group of 10 Thai tourists on their way to the island said that they love Koh Larn because beaches are much cleaner and it’s more private. The scenery is great and it’s worth spending a day there. They’ve set a budget for approximately 2,000 baht a head to spend the day and come back.

Koh Larn beaches have full facilities including restrooms and showers, and there are also many restaurants that serve up delicious fresh seafood.

There are many resorts on the island and they have a variety of options, from budget rooms to luxury accommodations. While room rates are a little higher on the island than in Pattaya or Jomtien, it is well worth the experience of spending the night.

It is especially popular amongst Thai weekenders from Bangkok and nearby vicinities in addition to foreign tourists who wish to escape the crowded city.
