Jomtien Beach residents want tree trimmers to get busy, complaining that coconut trees are obscuring shoreline lighting.
Manop Sakorn, chairman of We Love Free Zone Dongtan Beach Group, complained Oct. 4 saying roads are being plunged into darkness by palm fronds covering street lights.
Moreover, falling leaves and coconuts might hurt tourists or cars parked in the area, leading to accidents or damage.
He called on city hall’s maintenance division to shed some light on the situation.
