Store clerks accused the Ukrainian of stealing merchandise worth 2,547 baht. They found him suspicious, but rather than confront the Eastern European, a clerk simply photographed his motorbike license plate and contacted police.
Ocnach had rented the bike from Sisima Chanda who gave police his contact information.
