U.S., Thai marine chiefs meet to close Cobra Gold

Wrapping up their annual Cobra Gold war games, the heads of the marine forces for the United States and Thailand met to review the joint military exercise and plan for the future.

Vice Adm. Sonthaya Noichaya, commander of the Royal Thai Marine Corps, and top Thai officers welcomed Lt. Gen. Terry G. Robling, U.S. Marine Corps Pacific commander, to Chumphon Camp Feb. 26.

Sonthaya said Thai and U.S. forces always have had a good relationship and often talked to exchange ideas on future training projects.

The officers exchanged gifts to express the two countries’ bond.
