The Royal Thai Navy seized two Vietnamese fishing boats caught illegally trawling in waters off Sattahip.

While patrolling the upper Gulf of Thailand Aug. 8, the HTMS Sirirath discovered the two boats and 24 crewmen about 30 miles south of Koh Chuang. They were taken to the Sattahip Marine Police Pier and the crews arrested on illegal fishing and immigration charges.

The Vietnamese embassy was contacted with hopes that no further breaches of the two countries fishing agreements would occur.
