Pattaya will commemorate Visakha Bucha Day Friday with a walk-run beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Runners will trot five kilometers from the Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya office on Pratamnak Hill while walkers will trek three kilometers. The objective is to encourage people to participate in the religious following on Visakha Bucha Day May 20, both with their minds and bodies.
The route will run up to Big Buddha Hill around the jogging course and return back to the starting line. There will be six divisions broken down by gender and age with 66 prizes in all.

Registration is being taken until race time with the entrance fee set at 150 baht. All registrants will receive a shirt.
A candle procession is scheduled after the race at 5:30 p.m. at Chaimongkol Temple.
