Pattaya plans to build a wall along a steep stretch of Pratamnak Road to prevent mudslides like the one that blocked traffic after a recent storm.
Ampol Yutisri of the city Environment Department who led a crew to Pratamnak Hill June 23 said the block wall still is awaiting budget approval, but is planned to stop mudslides that occur during rainy season.
Heavy rains tend to cause landslides along steep sections of Pratamnak Hill.
Ampol’s crew was assigned to clean up after a storm the day before, trimming branches that cover the street and break and shower Pratamnak with leaves during storms. The trees there grow quickly and need constant attention, he said.
