Poor water supply and public-land encroachment topped the list of grievances when community leaders met with Pattaya officials Nov. 21.
City legal chief Sretapol Boonsawat was joined department heads and representatives from the Provincial Waterworks Authority, Provincial Electricity Authority and other utilities at city hall to meet with members of Pattaya’s 42 communities.
Citizens aired their usual grumbles about trash, roadworks, noise, street lighting and inoperable CCTV cameras, but poor water flow was the most-common complaint.
Sretapol said problems with residents not having enough water for daily use has been brought to the attention of the PWA and will be investigated and solved.
The meeting also showed that Sretapol’s crusade against encroachment has motivated the public, with several neighborhood leaders offering up targets for the top lawyer’s next crackdown.
All the details of those using public land for private gain were taken down and action promised.
Sretapol said meetings with community leaders will be held monthly to keep city hall in touch with the issues most important to residents.
