Pattaya police have arrested a woman allegedly drained the bank account of person who left their ATM card in a Naklua machine.

Wilai Chartdon, 38, was captured in her Pattaya apartment Oct. 29 with 47,000 of the 55,000 baht she’d allegedly stole.

Police said Wilai confessed that she found the card in an ATM at a Naklua 7-Eleven, then guessed the pin – the 38-year-old owner had used their birth year – and took the card around to several machines to pull cash out, until she got 55,000 baht.

She then took her friends out at her – or rather the card owner’s – expense.

The victim soon realized the card was missing and canceled it. Police were notified when the withdrawals were detected. Police tracked down Wilai via security camera footage and in her closet found the clothes she had been wearing at the time of the theft.
