Quick-acting security guards prevented a 35-year-old Thai woman distressed over breaking up with her foreign boyfriend from jumping off a Jomtien Beach condominium building.
“Gai” was pulled from a perch on top of the 18-story Angate Condominium Dec. 8. Angry, but unhurt, the Nong Khai native was turned over sobbing to authorities.

Apartment staff members said “Gai” had broken up the day before with resident Dave, whom she’d apparently only known for a short time. Dave had instructed security staff to bar her from the building, but the woman apparently sneaked in the following day. Finding her ex-boyfriend not at home, she’d gone to the roof to jump.
