Woman killed after pickup truck rams motorbike in Pattaya

One woman was killed and another severely injured when a pickup truck crashed into a motorbike at the Thepprasit Road and Sukhumvit highway intersection in Pattaya

Pattaya, Thailand – A devastating accident took place at the intersection of Thepprasit Road and Sukhumvit highway in Pattaya in the early hours of July 2, resulting in one fatality and leaving another person severely injured.

The deadly collision occurred when a Isuzu D-Max pickup truck hit a black Suzuki motorcycle, crushing the bike into its front end, before dragging it more than 100 meters from the point of impact.



Rescue workers providing crucial medical aid to an injured female victim lying motionless on the road. She was rushed to the Pattaya City Hospital for further treatment. Another female victim was found lying lifeless nearby. No personal identification documents were found to identify the injured and deceased.


During the preliminary police investigation, the unidentified driver of the pickup truck said that he was driving past the intersection while traveling towards Sattahip, when the motorbike cut right in front of him. The driver confessed to consuming a small amount of alcohol before the incident.

Police took the driver of the pickup truck into custody and conducted an alcohol test. They said that once the investigation is completed, further legal actions will be taken.
