The cleanup from last month’s devastating storm continues with Pattaya workers scooping out the mud, debris and other junk washed into drainage pipelines along Pattaya Beach.

Seven Engineering Department workers were at the Dusit Curve Sept. 21 using vacuum trucks and manual tools to remove the garbage, rocks, mud and other debris that had flowed from higher elevations and got stuck in the pipelines before it could be washed out to sea.

The damage from tropical depression Vamco was evident in what workers took out: piece of broken cement, wood furniture, plastic bags, bottles and leaves.

The cleaning was expected to continue over coming days until all the drains down to Walking Street were cleaned.
