A 20-year-old woman has been charged with infanticide after allegedly throwing a newborn baby fathered by a married foreigner from the 17th floor of a Pattaya condominium.

Natechanok Nokyoongthong was taken for a police re-enactment of the murder of the slightly premature child Nov. 7 at the Centric Sea condo in North Pattaya. She admitted to the crime, showing police the window from where she threw the child, inside a cloth bag, to its death.

Police said Natechanok showed no remorse for the murder and that she said she did not know how she’d raise a child after her South Korean lover dumped her and said he planned to return home to his wife and kids.

The 40-year-old father, identified only as Kim, worked as an architect in Sriracha and put her up in the condo and visited her occasionally. She became pregnant eight months ago, but Kim refused to take responsibility for the child after learning it was his, Natechanok said.

He reportedly was still in Pattaya at the time of the child’s death.

The young mother said she had no money of her own and panicked when she went into labor Nov. 4, as the baby was not due for several more weeks.
