Garden International School (GIS) put on some amazing performances of music, art and drama during a special evening.

The Music, Art and Drama (MAD) event began with an art exhibition in the Drama Room, where guests were able to see some amazing displays of art from Year 13 students. The guests then sat at round tables in the Main Hall and enjoyed cheese and olives as the main show got underway.

A mix of drama and music on alternating stages meant there was a great variety of styles. A Year 11 student gave a dramatic and quirky performance of “Over the Moon”; Year 8 sang Runaway Baby; while the choir sang “And So It Goes”. After a short break, there was an energetic second half, with the orchestra performing “Liberty Bell”; Year 10 and 11 students staging scenes from Romeo and Juliet; and a moving performance of “I Dreamed a Dream”.

Students performed their own version of ‘Uptown Funk’.Students performed their own version of ‘Uptown Funk’.

The evening ended with versions of Stevie Wonders’ classic “Sir Duke” and then the Bruno Mars current hit “Uptown Funk”. Many thanks to the Arts Department for putting on such an excellent evening’s entertainment.
