Aksorn Pattaya School marked National Science Day with rockets and quizzes.
Principal Jeeraporn Muangin kicked off the Aug. 18 event honoring the Father of Thai Science, HM King Mongkut, or King Rama IV. She lit incense and candles before an image the 19th century monarch.
Regional head of science educators Tanyarat Kaewkiew said eight education areas are working together to improve science education as it is vital to Thailand’s future development.
The day featured a genius competition, gliding-rocket races, a water rocket contest, science debate and demonstrations of inventions and projects.
