The Avani Pattaya Resort awarded 324,000 baht in scholarships to underprivileged students and children of hotel employees. General Manager Somsak Tanruengsri presented the stipends, funded by the Heinecke Foundation: the charity organization founded by William E. Heinecke, Chairman and CEO of Avani operator, Minor International.
The hotel has provided scholarships over the last 20 years and plans to continue to do so. This year, they were divided into external scholarships for students in various schools, including 30 students from Wat Boonsamphan, Khao Chee Chan, and Tunglaharn schools, as well as nearby Pattaya School No. 8 which received 109,500 baht for primary school and for high school.
Another 23 scholarships worth 162,500 baht were awarded to Avani team members for a total of 324,000 baht.
The criterion for granting these scholarships to qualifying students is willingness to study hard and good behaviour. Therefore, the atmosphere in the selection process during the event is filled with pride and joy of not only the students but parents and teachers alike.
The hotel is acutely aware of the importance of education and aims to aid young people to become determined to study successfully, to gain knowledge and have the ability to secure a rewarding career. Moreover, being a quality person in society can bode well for the future too.
