Chonburi Deputy Gov. Phawat Lertmukhda opened the Jan. 20-21 even at Khao Noi Kiriwan in Ban Bung District.

He said chronically ill children are affected both physically and mentally by their condition, as they must battle pain and the discouragement that comes from protracted illness. Furthermore, he said, parents suffer mental effects as well.

Chonburi launched the Family Love Project to raise the morale of all family members through Buddhist lessons.

Speakers focused on reinforcing in the children morality, ethics, proper manners and how to place Buddhism in the center of their daily lives.

Phawat said he believes the seminar will cheer up ill children and guardians and give them strength, warmth and determination to face diseases with consciousness in accordance with the Buddhist way.
