Chumsai youths attend anti-drug camp

The Chumsai Community organized a neighborhood youth camp to urge local children to stay away from drugs.

Former Pattaya city councilmen Sanit Boonmachai and Nakhon Phonlookin opened the July 23 camp with teachers, students and community President Jirawat Plukjai.

He said the Chumsai Community was selected to receive money from HM Queen Sirikit’s Mother of the Land Fund to organize a youth anti-drug campaign.

Working with the World Vision Foundation of Thailand, Asia Inter Clinic and the Royal Thai Police spokesman’s office, community leaders put together the camp to reinforce children’s strength of will to reject drugs.

The 180 kids heard from a police lecturer, as well as instructors from the Yod Nam Pen Sai Tan Team, while the medical team from Asia Inter Clinic provided free checkups.

The participants also volunteered in picking up trash in the community, creating unity to oppose drug use together.
