Garden International School (GIS) celebrated its 21st anniversary with a day of fun and games for the local community.
More than 1,000 people came to help the school celebrate its milestone birthday. Children spent the day playing dozens of games and activities, which included a bouncy castle, a ‘gladiator’ contest, and football and golf challenges. There were also space hoppers, face painting, arts and crafts stalls and mini boats in one of the school’s two swimming pools.
Free food and drinks were provided at the school’s new-look canteen and special 21st anniversary cupcakes were handed out.
Students at GIS come from more than 40 countries, making it truly international. As the only school in the region to have full accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS), it has high academic standards and offers a world-class education to its students. Since opening 21 years ago, it has educated thousands of students, and many of those returned to see how the school looks these days.
GIS Principal Dinah Hawtree said: “We are very proud of the community feel our school has, and so we felt the best way to celebrate our birthday would be to invite the local community to come and mark the occasion with us. It was a wonderful day and everyone had a fantastic time.”
The event was sponsored by CMB Construction, Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, Sunbeach (furniture, playground and kitchen equipment importers), Ramayana Water Park, SP Sports Ban Chang (makers of tailor-made sports kits), a pie shop near Green Valley Golf Course, Eastern Star Golf Course, and Baan Kanom Thai (Thai desserts).
GIS is based in Ban Chang near Pattaya. For more, visit www.gardenrayong.com.
