Students splashed, soaked and generally drenched each other as part of the Songkran celebrations at Garden International School (GIS).
On the final day of Term 2, the Thai department organised a range of traditional Thai games and activities for all the students. These included collecting water in sponges and going through an obstacle course to trying to hit a box while blindfolded.
Students also paid respects to their teachers by pouring water over their hands and daubing their faces with powder. The day ended with a competition to see which teacher and students could make the biggest splash in one of the school’s pools! Many thanks to the Thai Department – and Mr Carr – for helping to organise such a great event! GIS is based in Ban Chang, near Pattaya.
Students carried out a traditional water blessing; a sign of respect to their teachers.
Traditional Thai games were part of the Songkran celebrations this year.

“Can I have some more water, Mr Carr?”
Songkran is even better when you can enjoy it with your friends!
