Songkran came to Garden International School (GIS) with a flurry of water-based fun.

The school’s Thai department organised several activities before the end of term break. These included a special assembly where students explained the meaning of Songkran and what everyone should do to have a fun and safe time.

Students then lined up to pour water over their teachers’ hands and daub their faces with powder. In Foundation and Primary there were water-based games as students had the chance to get into the Songkran spirit slightly earlier than in the rest of the country. GIS is based in Ban Chang, near Pattaya.

Take that! A Primary student at GIS takes aim with some water.

Primary students had fun with lots of water-based activities for Songkran.

Missed me! GIS teachers joined in with the Songkran activities.

Even the youngest students in Foundation had their own water-throwing games.
