Children at Pattaya’s Hand to Hand Foundation received a visit from Santa Claus and some holiday snacks as the shelter celebrated its annual Christmas party.
The Dec. 17 party began with the singing of Christmas carols, followed by the entrance of Santa, played by Rick Bevington. He showered them with candy before taking a seat and, one by one, giving each of the 60 children assembled gifts.
The youngsters are riveted to Marge Grainger’s reading of a Christmas tale.
A table full of cakes and pastries amped up the little ones, who also enjoyed Thai food donated by Mandy from the International School of the Eastern Seaboard and Dr. Sumalee from Banglamung Hospital.
The party was just another example of the work put in by Hand to Hand and director Margaret Grainger. The “safe haven” is a registered charity that works not only to get young ones off the street, but educate Internet cafes about online threats to kids and teachers to detect abuse.
Children wait patiently for their turn to receive a special gift from Santa.
