Rayong English Programme School held our first Fun Day on a Saturday so the whole family could come and bring friends too. We expanded the free games to 30 and had lots of food, snacks and ice-cream to enjoy. Over 1000 attended and had fun!
It had been raining all week and it was predicted to rain all day Saturday, so everyone was wishing for a break in the weather. We got lucky! Early morning rain gave way gradually to scattered clouds and finally the sun peeked out before the day was over. Thankfully the rain stopped so the Jumpy Castle could be blown up because the kids really loved playing on it.
Many families came dressed as their favorite nationality or country. Then after a traditional opening of singing the Thai flag song and prayer all together we declared, “Happy Fun Day… let the games begin!”
Play, play, play its Fun Day! There were so many things to do, it was hard to decide where to start. The games and activities were spread out over 4 separate areas with food, drinks and ice-cream at all the locations. So of course one of the things to do was eat!
The games and activities were played for fun and each time a student played something they got a stamp and the number of stamps determined the prizes they could pick. Spinning the big prize wheel was fun too! Some of the favorite things to do were mini-golf, basketball, fishing for candy, blowing big bubbles, fingernail and face painting, even rock and wall painting were enjoyed by all ages. Shooting ducks, the egg race and limbo were also big hits with the smaller students. When everyone had eaten their fill, played enough games and picked out their prizes to take home, we heard many children exclaim, “It really was a Fun Day!”
