On Thursday the 21st of June, students in Key Stage 2 at the International School of Chonburi performed in their annual production. This year, it was “The Jungle Book.” The acting was sensational, the costumes and scenery were stunning and the signing was superb. The audience’s verdict was unanimous: the play was fantastic!

The show took place in the school’s state-of-the-art auditorium, in front of an enthusiastic and supportive crowd of parents, friends and community members. The performers did not disappoint, bringing to life the well-loved tale with impressive skill. Highlights included the two main songs, “Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You.”

Main characters Mowgli the man-cub, Bagheera the Jaguar and Balloo the Bear all gave strong performances. Other notable performances came from singing elephants, slithering snakes, cheeky monkeys and sleepy vultures. The moment the villain, Shere Kahn the Tiger, was vanquished with fire was both hilarious and satisfying.

Rehearsals for the musical began way back in April. Students, teachers, teaching assistants and parents were all involved in producing the play and all that hard work certainly paid off on the night. Teachers and parents alike were justifiably very proud of the young actors.
