Mother’s Day at REPS this year was a wonderful mix of tradition and fun!

Every year our Rayong English Programme School students honor their own mothers and also celebrate the August 12th Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand. Students, teachers and parents dressed in the Queen’s favorite colors of blue and white. All of Kindergarten wore blue shirts with “I Love Mom” printed in white.

Principal Steven Armstrong welcomed everyone and told a moving story about his mother and the love that all mothers have for their children. Next the secondary students spoke about the Thai history of Mother’s Day and its meaning.  Then Kindergarten sang “Happy, Happy Mother’s Day, Thank you for taking care of me”. Traditional Thai dances that were performed by primary and secondary students followed with Kindergarten closing the formal program with “I like my Mother.”

Further entertainment was provided by a preview of “REPS Got Talent” which showcased many talented secondary students performing a variety of musical numbers. At the same time parents and their children were invited to another area to play games and enjoy cupcakes and beverages. The favorite snack, as always, was coconut ice cream cones. Among the favorite games were Super Bingo, Twister, Tic-Tac-Toe, Costume Mania, and Face Painting “hearts on hands”! Happy families left with box lunches and smiles.
