Academy commander Capt. Wirat Somjit presided over the worship ceremony of angels and relics according to Brahmanism while laying the foundation stone for the Dharma Practice Buddhism Building. The facility is located close to the shine of King Taksin the Great.

Wirat said the Naval Rating School understands prospective sailors need more than just military tactics, they need ethics, morality and honesty. These can be learned through studying dharma. The new building will be placed where they can learn about the fundamental teachings of Buddhism.
