The Sattahip Naval Base’s Savings and Credit Cooperative donated more than a million baht in scholarships to members’ children.
Rear Adm., Sereparb Sukcharoen, chairman of the co-op’s board, oversaw the donation of the 354 stipends also sponsored by Union Life PLC, Big C Co. and Government Savings Bank.
Capt. Chaiyanan Chumai, a bank director, said this is the 17th year in which the cooperative handed out scholarships. Seventy grants were presented simply based on co-op membership while the remaining 284 were for “educational support”.
Union Life provided 50,000 baht of the 1.1 million baht handed out while Big C and Government Savings Bank chipped in an honorary 2,500 baht.
Sereparb urged the student recipients to be patient, economize, be aware of their duties, attentive to studies, and good children.
