Nong Plalai’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department hosted a seminar on how to prevent disasters in and around schools.
Sub-district Secretary Kotchsit Mulsrakhu opened the Aug. 1 workshop at Nong Khet Noi Temple aimed at preventing man-made tragedies and mitigating natural disasters near educational facilities.
Experts discussed how to train students to react in dangerous situations to prevent injury, property damage and loss.
Temple students were briefed on safety precautions by representatives from the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department. Teachers were shown how they can support students when needed and conduct safety drills regularly.
Workshop activities included fire and earthquake drills and real-life scenarios.
