Pattaya School No. 11 wins citywide student sports day

Pattaya School No. 11 triumphed when students from across the city hit the athletic field for the citywide sports day.

Acting Mayor Chanapong Sriviset opened the Aug. 27 competition at Pattaya School No. 2.

The goal of the event was not only to earn medals or trophies, but stress the importance of exercise and reinforce the idea of good sportsmanship and teamwork.

It also served as a platform for outstanding athletes to catch the eye of coaches for the Local Administration Organization Games team.

Students were split into three age groups and by sex. Events included running, tug-of-war and cheerleading.

Pattaya City School 11, led by Sirirath Rodhirun, put on a creative cheering performance stressing unity and the environment by using colorful dresses made of recyclables. Other teams integrated Thai cultural and modern dance.

Pattaya School No. 11 won the day, taking the most points across all the events.
