Hundreds of Pattaya kindergarteners and preschoolers ran, jumped and kicked their way to good sportsmanship and exercise at the Pattaya Preschool Sports Competition.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome kicked off the July 8 sports day at the Eastern National Indoor Sports Stadium on Soi Chaiyapruek 2 in Jomtien Beach. Kindergarten classes form Pattaya’s 10 public schools, plus the child-development centers at Chaimongkol Temple and Darul Ibadah Mosque took part.

The sports day was organized to emphasize exercise, unity, generosity, and good sportsmanship.

The first competition of this event was the girls 100 meter dash.

The tikes started the day with a parade around the arena, followed by a full slate of track and field events.

The day also was aimed at developing the children’s physical and mental abilities, social skills and intelligence. It also showed them ways to spend them free time productively and beneficially.

The event started with a parade of school colors around the arena.
