The day began with a parade around the Oval with the highlight being the Year 1 class who dressed up as 101 Dalmatians, with Head of Early Years, Mrs Joanne Smith, in the ‘starring’ role of Cruella Deville. Other characters included Harry Potter, Where’s Wally and the Grey Gentleman from the novel Momo by Michael Ende.

The Primary School took the book The Eleventh Hour: A Curious Mystery by Graeme Base as a basis for all activities, with the pupils enjoying solving riddles and throwing a birthday party for Horace the elephant.

Meanwhile, Secondary students participated in various competitions including karaoke, poetry reading and a Lamda performance. Overall it was a memorable day and a reminder of the power of literature to enthral, amuse, instruct and warn.
