Children and teenagers at RPB Church in Laem Chabang were all smiles in March this year after receiving 60 pairs of sport shoes donated by the Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya, represented by President Vutikorn Kamolchote.

RPB church is situated in the middle of the container yards and factories where the residences are mostly low-income. Like many other villages of similar set up, drugs are the major threat.

Fully aware of the situation, Pastor Praison of RPB church, who is a former Muay Thai boxer and a great athlete, has utilized his God gifted talents as powerful weapons for his war against drugs.

In order to save not only flesh but also the souls of many, he has spent a lot of time influencing local youths at the nearby air field and park where they normally hang out.

The church has rented an adjacent piece of land and turned it into a football field (also sepak takraw court and a vegetable garden called “Eden”) where the locals are welcomed. Saturday is specially dedicated as “Sports Day” when Pastor Praison provides free lessons on Muay Thai, football and sepak takraw to all interested.

Saturday is “Sports Day” in the field near the church, which on this day turned out to be very special when the local kids were given their new sports shoes.Saturday is “Sports Day” in the field near the church, which on this day turned out to be very special when the local kids were given their new sports shoes.

President Vutikorn expressed his thanks to Steve Graham, MD of TBX Thailand, who generously donated the high quality sports shoes to the Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya to distribute to needy children.
