Russia’s Maslenitsa Festival was celebrated at Garden International School (GIS).

Some of the school’s Russian students came up with the idea of celebrating the festival, which marks the end of winter and the start of spring.

Russian pancakes were sold during break and lunch, raising 800 baht for the Baan Kruu Boonchoo special school in Sattahip. There was also an assembly where students learned about the history of Maslenitsa, then took part in a Russian tongue-twister challenge and a push-up competition.

Well done to the students who arranged the school’s very first ‘Russian Day’.
