Sattahip ordained 61 novices to honor HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the start of her 61st year.
Tasanee Kunakorn, abbot of Sattahip Temple, and Narong Bunbancherdsri, mayor of Sattahip, chaired the ordination to honor HM the King, HM Queen Sirikit, and HRH Princess Sirindhorn for her 60th birthday. The activity was well attended by Sattahip council members, government authorities, community leaders and local residents.
Sattahip Secretary Rungrol Onwong said the city opened the ordination for males ages 9-18 last month and gathered 61 registrants to be ordained after March 26. The objective of the activity was for youngsters to use their spare time to participate in religious activities during their school break. The youngsters concerned will remain at Sattahip Temple until April 19.

Narong said too many youths are addicted to computer games and social media sites that make them forget about religion. He said he was pleased to see some turned out to honor religion and tradition.
