Principal Jirasak Jitsom said Dec. 21 that the school was lauded for raising test performance in mathematics and science and for widening the knowledge of students in the key subjects.

Jirasak, since taking over in 2013, also has stressed the education of teachers so the school can match international standards.

Over the past three years, students’ performance on the Thailand Education Development and Education Test have improved steadily. A total of 490 School No. 5 students in grades 1-3 participated in the 90-minute exam.

Their high percentage of correct answers on the 30-question quiz earned commendation from the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology on Dec. 18 at a ceremony in Bangkok.
