Nineteen area students vied for 30,000 baht in prize money at the Pattaya Youth Country Singing Contest.
City Councilman Choluek Chotekamjorn presented prizes and plaques to winner Napatsakorn Wongeak and other top finishers April 7. Napatsakorn won 10,000 baht.
Pakaporn Sukpanitch took home 8,000 baht for second place and Chattraporn Badan 5,000 baht for third. Seven others received honorary-mention plaques.
Teeraporn Srijan, director of social support and welfare, said the contest was organized as an effort to preserve traditional Thai country music and give students a chance to hone their singing skills.
All the contestants had to be registered residents of Chonburi and enrolled in a Pattaya school.
