Talented musicians from the International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE) recently visited Bangkok to take part in a music festival.
The ISE High School Concert Band participated in the ISB Massed Band festival at International School Bangkok (ISB).
Joseph Marchione, the ISE band teacher, with conductor Dr Faulman.
This was a great chance for ISE students to play with their peers from some of the top international schools in Thailand. The festival was organized by ISB’s Thomas Meyers while the full band was conducted by Roger Faulman, an esteemed conductor, educator, percussionist, and clinician from the USA.
The ISE band worked on some challenging material, particularly ‘A Festival Prelude’ by Alfred Reed and ‘Praises’ by Francis McBeth. The ISE band played a solo selection, ‘A Hymn for Band’ by Hugh Stuart, which received rousing applause.
Participation in this festival and similar events are seen as invaluable learning experiences for the students.
ISE band teacher Joseph Marchione said, “We are grateful to all who support our programs and believe in the power of music education to nurture our students in their pursuit to be well-rounded, culturally-sensitive citizens of the world.”
The band also put on a show for Pattaya residents, when it performed its Winter Concert on December 10 at Central Festival Mall.
ISE International School is located inside Burapha Golf Club. For more on the school, visit www.ise.ac.th.
