The Billabong Golf Bar members have been there many times before, we are here again today and it is always a pleasure to donate funds and visit the Khao Bi Sri Centre which is also known as the BoonChoo Home for Special Children. The centre now has 167 children of various ages that are autistic, have Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other debilitating concerns.

When we visited recently, Choo told us that the numbers of children living at the centre are increasing almost daily and there was a need for good, strong beds as were solid benches to withstand the constant use at meal times. The Billabong were happy to oblige but there was something else. The children, like children all over the world, love to play sport, with football and basketball being high on the list. But around the play area there were no toilet facilities for someone who might be caught short. With those visiting the Billabong Golf Bar having an interest in sport generally, we understood the need for such facilities and funds were donated to fulfill this requirement.

As it happened when members of the Billabong visited Choo, a group of children had just returned from a sports day and medals were presented to the children to loud applause from an audience of men from the local navy base who had donated drinks and snacks to the children. As a thank you the children sang and danced for the guests.

If you wanted to visit the centre, Choo would be happy to see you particularly if you had a small donation. For more information contact William on 0861522754.
