As Asia’s largest beachfront shopping mall, Central Festival Pattaya Beach always has to be prepared for fire. Shop and restaurant owners were given another chance to practice their fire-extinguisher skills and review emergency plans at the mall’s second annual training session.

Central Festival’s head of security, Sornchai Inwichai, and Peerapat Pramphu, head of the mall’s 25-person fireman team, ran the workshop June 15.

The goal was to teach mall workers to evacuate their shops in case of fire and know how to correctly use a fire extinguisher if need be.

Sornchai said Central Festival has a fully equipped fire fighting crew, working 3 shifts around the clock. They will be the guides for customers to follow in case of emergency.

Training focused on fighting cooking, gas and fuel fires. There was also a mock-fire simulation to allow plaza workers to put their skills safely to the test.
