Rotary cheese & wine party impresses

“If the success of an event can be measured by smiling faces and happy people,” Hans Peter Graf, public relations manager for the Rotary Club of the Eastern Seaboard, wrote on Facebook, “then the Cheese and Wine party on Nov. 13 was a real success.”

Many who attended would agree. The party, organized by past RCES President Jan Abbink and his wife Ket, was full of smiling faces and sumptuous food, especially cheese and sausages brought from Holland by Rotarians Aad and Witha Scholtes.

Other guests also brought homemade food, wine and other drinks. Everyone put some money in the donation box for needy children.

Aad Scholtes, who was celebrating a birthday, was surprised with a cake and pianist Benjamin Khinkhunthod, son of Rotarian Bill Gustafsson, played several pieces and sang.
