It was all-you-can-eat seafood on Beach Road as Pattaya hosted the Amazing Seafood Festival.
Acting Mayor Chanatpong Sriviset and city governing board members opened the July 29-31 festival organized by local government and the Pattaya Business & Tourism Association aimed at boosting low season tourism.
Tourists and locals alike thronged the shoreline booths, feasting on fresh, safe and affordable seafood.
Vendors grilled squid, jumbo prawns, lobsters and more. Tourists sat at seats provided as well as along the sidewalk and were entertained by live music, including appearances by several popular artists.
Many customers praised the quality and price of the food on offer. Freshwater prawns were 550 baht a kilogram, sea bass and giant squid 250 baht a kilo, horse crabs 480 baht and mussels only 100 baht a kilogram.
Florensky and Louis Petra from Indonesia said they had eaten at many seafood restaurants and they loved what they found in Pattaya on their first trip to the city.
