Most people will have noticed the greater influx of Russian tourists and long term residents to Pattaya. At the 11th Green Pattaya cleaning outside The Royal Cliff Condos and Sheraton Hotel a large number of Russian expatriates and tourists joined the effort to make Pattaya clean.
This is the second time Green Pattaya has cleaned this area but this time we were greeted by a resident who congratulated Green Pattaya for work well done and said he would try to get his property management board to help keep the area clean in the future. This is the ultimate goal of Green Pattaya – not to do all the cleanings but get everybody to take care of their own areas.

Most of the rubbish comes from buses and vans parking in the area at night time; when they clean out the buses or vans they do not have any rubbish bins but simply put it in the drainage system. When the rain comes, like it did just the morning after the cleaning, the rubbish can be seen clogging the drains and spreading down to the Lighthouse beach and in the sea next to Bali Hai Pier.

Green Pattaya with the help of the new hard working Russian volunteers managed to fill up 20 garbage bags in just one hour. This was an extra cleaning day by Green Pattaya to honor the 5th of December Father’s Day and the birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand.
