The Havana Bar at the Holiday Inn is hosting monthly wine tasting events and the second such event was held on Thursday the 4th of July. Since this rather conveniently coincided with the American Day of Independence, it was fitting that the wines featured were from California.
The Havana Bar is the perfect setting for events such as these and the 100 or so guests were entertained by a highly skilled musician singing and playing acoustic guitar, providing an ideal backdrop to the evening.

The wines on offer included a selection of reds and whites from Fetzer and Bel Arbor, from Chardonnays to Merlots and were complimented by a vast array of Tapas and cheeses.
The wines on this evening were hosted by Central Food Retail Company and represented the mid price bracket of wines retailing at under a 1000 baht a bottle.

Ross Edward Marks, the Vice President for Wine, Spirits & Beer for Central Food Retail Company Limited, stated that attitudes to wine drinking had changed substantially in the past few years and that wine was now seen as something of a prestige drink.

Holiday Inn General Manager Garth Solly added that he was delighted with the turnout for the Californian Wine Tasting and that the next event is planned for Saturday the 3rd of August. The theme will be East meets West.
