Jesters Care for Kids Charity Drive 2012, Sponsored by Glencore International and Canadian Jackalope Open

Jesters Care For Kids recently joined forces with the local YWCA ladies and Bangkok Hospital Pattaya to monitor the dental health of 60 children from Ban Boonchu School for Special Children, aka, Khao Baisri Special Education in Sattahip.

A visit by dental technicians identified seventeen children requiring treatment of various problems, such as cavities, gum infections, extractions and more. Jesters are funding the generous discounted treatment given by the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya Dental Department, while YWCA liaises with Boonchu to get the children to the hospital.

On Saturday 22nd the first two children accompanied by their carers arrived at the surgery to face the frightening experience of their first visit to the dentist. Can you remember the first time you sat in the dentist’s chair? One can only imagine what they must have been thinking.

The boys, Jedwiron and Jirasak, both aged fifteen were comforted by Boonchu before being taken into the surgery. Both boys behaved beautifully during their treatment and hopefully the children that follow will learn from them that there is little to fear from this experience.

Our thanks go to YWCA and the staff of Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for allowing us the opportunity to help with these special children too.
