City hall is replacing portraits of the late His Majesty the King around Pattaya in respect for his passing Oct. 13.
Engineers were seen Oct. 17 mounting a new image on the pedestrian bridge near Pattaya School No. 2.
As per the directive from the Bureau of the Royal Household, all the portraits are in mourning colors. Thus the bright yellow- and gold-framed images adorning public areas in Pattaya needed to be replaced.
Signs and placards also must be in black and white.
City hall advised the public that the old portraits and signs are not being removed, but only replaced with appropriate images for the mourning period.
