The Naval Education Department awarded 600,000 baht in scholarships to support the children of navy families.
Vice Adm. Pichet Thanasret chaired the scholarship-presentation ceremony April 22 with officers, the Navy Wives Association and local businesspeople at the Chumphon Naval School.
The Education Department has been awarding scholarships since 2012 and also collected funds from private donors to allow it to award a total of 200 stipends.
Pichet said grants went to students who had good grades, good behavior and showed financial need.
